OneTalent is recruiting a Senior AI Engineer for the Digital Innovation area of a leading international FMCG group with 7,000+ employees across 30+ countries. You will shape how enterprise AI is architected, deployed and scaled across the organisation.

Reporting to the Digital Innovation Director, you will build a ground-up AI platform, set the technical roadmap, collaborate with IT, Data, Security and Business teams, and drive AI adoption with measurable business impact.

Formación

• Proven experience as AI Engineer, AI Architect, MLE or Technical AI Specialist who has built and shipped AI-powered solutions.
• Hands-on experience developing AI applications using APIs and modern LLM technologies.
• Experience designing or deploying agentic AI solutions and AI-enabled business applications.
• Experience evaluating technical solutions delivered by vendors or external development teams.
• Previous experience in AI engineering environments within large, complex organisations.

OneTalent is recruiting a Senior AI Engineer for the Digital Innovation area of a leading international FMCG group with more than 7,000 employees across 30+ countries.

Reporting to the Digital Innovation Director, you will join a newly created global Digital Innovation team with a clear mission: defining how Artificial Intelligence will be adopted, scaled and embedded across the entire organisation.

Working closely with Corporate Functions, Commercial, Operations, IT and Data teams, you will play a key role in shaping the company's AI capabilities, helping transform ambitious business ideas into scalable technical solutions with real business impact.

This is not a traditional AI delivery role. We're looking for someone who wants to define how enterprise AI should be architected, deployed and scaled across a global organisation.

The Role

As the Senior AI Engineer, you will become the technical reference for Artificial Intelligence within the Digital Innovation team. Rather than joining an existing AI platform, you will help define and build it from the ground up - translating the Group's AI vision into a scalable technical roadmap: architecture, platforms, infrastructure and engineering principles that enable AI adoption across all business functions.

This is a highly visible role that combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, for someone who enjoys building from scratch, influencing technical decisions, and turning emerging AI capabilities into scalable enterprise solutions that will shape how AI is deployed across the organisation for years to come.

a) AI Innovation & Technology Scouting

• Continuously scout the AI landscape for emerging technologies, models and platforms, proactively identifying innovations with the potential to create business value.
• Run rapid experiments and proof-of-concepts to validate new AI capabilities before wider adoption.
• Identify opportunities where AI and automation can redesign existing business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing new ideas and practical applications into the organisation.

b) AI Architecture & Platform Strategy

• Define and evolve the long-term technical roadmap and architecture for AI across the Group, translating business priorities into scalable AI platforms.
• Design enterprise AI solutions, including agentic systems, orchestration frameworks and the underlying AI infrastructure.
• Evaluate AI platforms, LLM providers, orchestration frameworks and emerging technologies against scalability, performance and long-term operating cost.
• Determine when to build internally versus leverage external AI platforms or implementation partners.
• Establish engineering principles that enable AI solutions to scale efficiently, securely and sustainably.
• Partner with IT, Data, Cybersecurity and Business teams to ensure AI capabilities are built on robust technical foundations.
• Lead the technical evaluation of AI vendors and implementation partners, defining evaluation criteria during platform selection processes.
• Review technical architectures, integrations and vendor deliverables to ensure quality and long-term scalability.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams - engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity and business stakeholders - providing technical leadership throughout AI initiatives, from technical design through deployment.

d) AI Adoption

• Partner with the AI User Experience & Academy Manager to provide technical expertise, working examples and reference architectures that accelerate AI adoption across the organisation.
• Support internal teams by translating complex AI concepts into practical and accessible solutions.

e) AI Governance & Platform Performance

• Ensure AI solutions align with the company's security, architecture and technology principles.
• Embed privacy, ethics and regulatory considerations into every AI engagement, from design through deployment.
• Monitor platform performance, scalability and operational costs, continuously identifying optimisation opportunities.

a) Experience

• Proven experience as an AI Engineer, AI Architect, Machine Learning Engineer or Technical AI Specialist - someone who has personally built and shipped AI-powered solutions, not only defined requirements for others to build.
• Hands-on experience developing AI applications using APIs and modern LLM technologies.
• Experience designing or deploying agentic AI solutions and AI-enabled business applications.
• Experience evaluating technical solutions delivered by vendors or external development teams.
• Previous experience in AI engineering environments within large, complex organisations will be highly valued.

b) Skills & Capabilities

• First-hand, applied experience developing and maintaining agentic AI systems, multi-agent architectures and LLM-based tools where appropriate - not only defining requirements for others to build.
• Solid grounding in enterprise AI architecture - knowledge/data layers, RAG pipelines, vector databases, agent orchestration frameworks and tool-integration protocols - with the technical judgment to select the right combination for each business need, independent of any specific vendor or tool.
• Experience evaluating and selecting AI platforms and LLM providers against scalability, performance, security and total cost of ownership.
• Track record defining build-vs-buy criteria and leading technical evaluation of AI vendors and implementation partners.
• Working knowledge of cloud AI infrastructure (Azure, AWS or GCP) and how AI workloads integrate with existing data, IT and security architecture.
• Working knowledge of AI governance principles - privacy, ethics and regulatory compliance - and how to embed them throughout the AI lifecycle.
