A renewable energy firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Photovoltaics) to design and implement solar power plants. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in renewable energy. This is a remote position based in Spain with opportunities to travel to Germany for project requirements.

Formación

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in power systems, renewable energy, or photovoltaics.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Germany as required.
  • Previous project management experience is a plus.

We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (Photovoltaics) to join our Operations Department, working remotely from Spain for Greening’s German delegation.

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Electrical Engineer PV, you will take ownership of the technical design, planning, and implementation of rooftop and ground‑mounted solar power plants, with a strong focus on the AC side.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Electrical design and dimensioning of rooftop and ground‑mounted photovoltaic systems (PV plants)
  • Preparation of one‑line diagrams and electrical schematics, control and protection concepts, and electrical layouts in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Coordination with grid operators, certifiers, and project partners to ensure smooth integration and compliance
  • Supporting the installation, commissioning, and operation of PV systems
  • Ensuring full adherence to all safety standards, legal requirements, and customer specifications
  • Participating in project coordination meetings and contributing to project management activities
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to foster long‑term collaboration and future project opportunities
What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in power systems, renewable energy, or photovoltaics (preferably in Germany)
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel occasionally to Germany as required
  • Languages: Fluent in English (German is a plus)
  • Soft Skills: Strong team player with excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage complex projects independently and deliver results under pressure. Customer‑oriented, solution‑driven, and innovation‑minded. Previous project management experience is a plus

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

We now seek a fully experienced Senior Engineer to be based out of our Madrid office with the ability to inspire others and will be responsible for running major projects.

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for running of Major projects. Takes Team Management role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc. (majority of building types)
  • Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of fee bids
  • Reviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.
  • Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
  • Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
  • Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams
  • Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
  • Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with, and provides advice to client
  • Ensures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegation
  • Leads on the coordination of engineering services
  • Takes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions
  • Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.
Role Requirements
  • Registered with a recognised Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros
  • Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc
  • Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
  • Good understanding of BS standards
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Managerial Skills
  • Background in consulting or construction preferred.
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
