Security Security Engineer

Onsite - London, Madrid or Malaga (4 days in the office, 1 day remote)

Our client's expanding Cyber Security team is seeking a skilled professional to contribute to security enhancements across their diverse product range. In this role, you will collaborate seamlessly with application, platform, and product teams, championing security best practices throughout the development lifecycle, joining a team of seasoned security experts from varied backgrounds.

As an active contributor, you'll encounter numerous opportunities to engage in the technical implementation of security features and controls. Your role involves championing the adoption of our client's Security Engineering principles. Embrace the autonomy to conceptualise, execute, and own projects from inception to completion.

Candidate Profile

• Knowledge of encryption standards, frameworks, and coding best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with security subsystems like secrets databases, security automation, CI / CD release pipelines, and application hardening.
• Proficiency in full‑stack software development with expertise in cloud technologies and Python (other programming languages also considered).
• Analytical prowess to identify and address security risks across applications, systems, and infrastructure.
• Comprehensive understanding of DevSecOps, emphasising security‑as‑code, DevOps methodologies, and tooling proficiency.
• Effective collaboration skills, you know how to speak the language of software and platform engineers, and have the ability to contribute to business and security requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

• Solid grasp of Linux and TCP / IP fundamentals.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and version control systems, ideally Git.
• Experience in modern object oriented programming languages such as Python or Golang.
• Familiarity with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Exposure to containerisation and orchestration solutions like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong domain knowledge with experience in FinTech / Financial Services or other highly regulated industries
