Open Cosmos is seeking a Satellite Flight Operator to manage day-to-day satellite operations, monitor health, run scheduled activities, and respond quickly to anomalies. You will be part of the Mission Operations team ensuring safe and reliable spacecraft performance.

Based in any location with right to work, you’ll support launches, early orbit, commissioning and end-of-life activities, while maintaining logs and collaborating across teams to meet mission objectives.

Formación

• Satellite subsystems understanding and how spacecraft behave in orbit.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry and operational indicators.
• Experience operating in time-critical, high-accuracy environments.
• Competence with Unix command line tools and basic scripting.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
• Calm, reliable under time pressure when operating spacecraft.
• Clear communication and a team-first mindset.
• Strong ownership for safe and reliable satellite operations.

Responsabilidades

• Run daily and time-critical satellite operations.
• Monitor telemetry, system performance and overall satellite behaviour.
• Execute planned activities using approved procedures and checklists.
• Act as first responder to anomalies or unexpected events.
• Follow escalation paths and support initial fault investigation.
• Support operations during launch, early orbit, commissioning and end-of-life phases.
• Keep accurate operational logs, reports and shift handovers.
• Work with the mission operations team to deliver objectives.
• Update procedures, checklists and documentation as systems evolve.
