Descripción de la vacante

ARQUIMEA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Robotics Mechanical Design Team within PULSAR HRI, ARQUIMEA’s robotics division focused on high-performance motors, actuators and advanced mechanical systems. The role emphasizes hands-on design, development, integration, testing and validation of mechanical subsystems for complex mechatronic platforms.

The candidate will work closely with software, control, electronics, systems, manufacturing and testing teams to ensure mechanically sound,

Formación

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
  • 0-3 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design, product development, mechatronic systems, robotic systems, precision mechanisms or similar environments.
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including statics, dynamics, materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes and mechanical design principles.
  • Good practical ability with 3D CAD tools and mechanical assembly design.
  • Ability to produce clear 2D drawings and define appropriate tolerances, materials, finishes and manufacturing requirements.
  • Experience designing mechanical parts for machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing or other common manufacturing processes.
  • Practical understanding of mechanical assembly, prototyping, troubleshooting and testing.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Canary Islands or Madrid, Torrejón.
  • Curiosity, creativity, tenacity and a collaborative attitude.

Responsabilidades

  • Design mechanical parts, assemblies and subsystems for robotic, mechatronic and optronic platforms.
  • Develop mechanical concepts for stabilized payloads, pan-tilt systems, sensor integration and actuators.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials and technical documentation.
  • Support the mechanical development of ruggedized systems operating in demanding environments, considering stiffness, vibration, shock, sealing, corrosion, thermal behaviour, weight, manufacturability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing suppliers and internal teams to ensure that parts can be machined, assembled, inspected and maintained effectively.
  • Apply design-for-manufacturing, design-for-assembly and design-for-test principles from early development stages.
  • Identify mechanical risks, diagnose failures or performance limitations and propose practical corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the integration of mechanical systems with electronics, embedded devices, control software, sensors and actuation technologies.
  • Support the preparation of prototypes, test benches, laboratory setups and field-test configurations.
  • Provide feedback to actuator, motor, electronics and control teams based on real mechanical integration constraints and system-level behaviour.
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary technical planning with mechanical, electronics, software, control, systems, testing, manufacturing and product teams.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, including design rationale, test results, assembly procedures and lessons learned.
