Getnet Platforms, part of Santander Payment Solutions, is seeking a Payments Risk Director in Madrid to lead risk oversight across the platforms and advise executives. The role focuses on independent risk assessments, governance, and cross-functional collaboration to support strategic initiatives.

The position requires 10+ years in risk management within payments, leadership of international teams, and fluency in English and Spanish to communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Formación

• Degree-level education required.
• Recognised professional risk qualification or certification.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the Second Line of Defense risk oversight and independent challenge across Getnet Platforms.
• Advise executive business and technology stakeholders, embedding risk considerations into strategic planning and business transformation initiatives.
• Oversee independent risk assessments for transformations, migrations, partnerships, product launches and other strategic initiatives.
• Maintain an enterprise-wide view of the risk profile, identifying emerging risks, concentrations and interdependencies and forward-looking trends.
• Consolidate insights from Technology, Cybersecurity, Financial Crime, Regulatory Compliance, Third-Party and Operational Risk to provide an integrated view of the Payments risk profile.
• Coordinate complex cross-functional risk initiatives and oversee action plans arising from risk reviews, regulatory engagements and assurance activities.
• Represent Risk & Compliance in executive governance forums, providing balanced, independent and pragmatic risk opinions.
• Strengthen the risk framework, governance, reporting, oversight practices and risk culture in line with business growth and regulatory expectations.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

We are in search of a Payments Risk Director to join our team in Madrid, with the following qualifications and background:

Professional Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Risk Management or related control functions within the payments, banking or financial services industry.
• Extensive experience working across the payments ecosystem, including payment and card processing, technology platforms and digital operating models.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with Executive Committees, senior governance forums and C‑level stakeholders.
• Experience leading high‑performing teams and developing talent within an international environment.

Education

• Degree‑level education.
• Recognised professional risk qualification or certification.

Languages

• Professional fluency in English.
• Professional fluency in Spanish.

Hard Skills

• Strong knowledge of enterprise, operational and technology risk management within payments or financial services.
• Ability to assess risks arising from products, technology, operations, strategic initiatives and service delivery models.
• Strong understanding of Second Line of Defense governance, oversight and independent challenge.
• Ability to consolidate and interpret risk insights across specialist control functions.
• Strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance business objectives, innovation and prudent risk management.
• Executive‑level stakeholder management, governance and risk reporting capabilities.
