Universitat Pompeu Fabra - Department of Engineering offers a one-year part-time research support position within the Biomechanics & Mechanobiology group (SIMBIOSys-BMMB) at the DTIC. You will advance a systems biology model of articular cartilage regulation in knee joints and map cell-cell communications, feeding the model with patient -omics data.
The role requires a bachelor in Biomedical Engineering, 2+ years in multiscale modelling, and strong English publication experience.
Formación
- Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering required.
- At least two years of contrastable experience in multiscale and systems biology modelling applied to human joint systems.
- Good capacity to disseminate science in English, with publications and conference participation; interview may occur.
- Proficient Spanish and/or Catalan for fluid communication with clinical collaborators; interview may occur.
Responsabilidades
- Validate a coupled systems biology - finite element multiscale model with experimental data (RP1).
- Review biological literature/databases to strengthen model validation (RP1).
- Generate a web-friendly simulator of the validated regulatory model using SBML (RP2).
- Interpret clinical data by integrating proteomics measurements from patient synovial fluids (RP3).
