Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) seeks a Research Engineer to consolidate and further develop Earth data verification tools using R. The role is within the Data and Diagnostics Team in the Earth Sciences Department and involves coordinating tool development with users in an HPC environment.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor in CS or related field, strong R skills, and experience with UNIX/Linux, GRIB/NetCDF formats, and parallel programming.

The BSC Computational Earth Sciences Group (CES) is looking for a software developer to consolidate and further develop the existing software environment for Earth data verification. The Data and Diagnostics Team, in which the position is located, has developed over the years a suite of several R packages used by the scientists of the department to perform their analysis and verify the simulations over observations and reanalysis, from sub-seasonal to climate time scales, from the load of the data to the computation of the diagnostics and scores and the visualization.
