Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Remote Machine Learning Engineer to lead data science and AI initiatives across client projects. You will work with subject matter experts to frame questions, develop prototypes, and deliver findings that inform decisions for European and global clients.

You will apply Python, ML methods, and language models to real problems, while ensuring reproducibility and clear communication to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on Python experience for data analysis and modelling.
• Strong grounding in statistics and ML methods including forecasting and evaluation.
• Familiarity with large language models in analysis or prototyping.
• Experience writing maintainable code with version control and testing.
• Ability to translate ambiguous questions into working demos and explain assumptions clearly.
• Clear written and spoken English; exposed to cross‑team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand project questions and data.
• Clean, combine and explore datasets; write clear Python; document checks.
• Build and compare statistical or ML models; establish baselines and evaluate bias.
• Prototype methods including language models; test outputs carefully before sharing.
• Prepare charts, concise findings and presentations for colleagues and clients.
• Contribute to reproducible project files and team knowledge sharing.
