Job summary

ICF is seeking a data scientist to work with subject matter experts and clients. You will define problems, prepare data, build and evaluate models, and present findings to diverse audiences. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to document work and turn prototypes into reliable solutions.

Required: strong Python, ML skills, and a quantitative degree; experience with large language models and data pipelines. Excellent English communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python for analysis and modelling with ML libraries.
• Strong grounding in statistics and ML (regression, forecasting, validation).
• Familiarity with large language models in analysis and prototyping.
• Experience preparing imperfect data and writing maintainable code.
• Ability to take ambiguous questions to working demonstrations.
• Clear written and spoken English for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Speak with experts and clients to define problems, success measures, and data needs.
• Prepare/analyze data, develop/evaluate models or prototypes using stats/ML.
• Present findings and uncertainties to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Collaborate across disciplines to document work and make results reproducible.
• Contribute ideas and estimates to proposals and manage multiple projects.
• Share methods and reusable approaches with the data science team.
