Job summary

Canonical is expanding its in-house legal team and seeks exceptional lawyers as Legal Counsel at various levels. You will draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts globally, support internal clients, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

A law degree, active licensure or progress toward it, and strong English drafting skills are essential. This remote role can be based in EMEA or AMER, with an option to work from our London office.

Qualifications

• A degree in law, JD or equivalent, and active licence to practise law or current progress towards that
• Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
• Excellent written and spoken English with drafting and presentation skills
• Global mobility with international travel 2–4 times a year for events

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with customers and vendors globally
• Providing legal support to internal clients across Canonical’s sales organisation
• Interfacing with cross-functional teams to support company initiatives
• Using Canonical’s contract management system to maintain accurate data on signed contracts
• Collaborating with local counsel in multiple jurisdictions to obtain and implement advice
