Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As Generative AI Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role.

You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Develop agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Build internal tools to reduce manual hours across design and development production processes.
• Create automation pipelines linking WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
• Contribute MCP server integrations as part of our AI stack.
