Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Developer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap.

This is a builder role, not a research role; you will be building production systems on top of LLMs, not training models. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to transform a documented roadmap of automation workflows into shipped, working systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years producing production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and cloud basics.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Develop agentic workflows using LangChain/LangGraph.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Build internal tools that reduce manual hours across production.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
• Integrate MCP server as part of the AI stack.

This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
