Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Forward-Deployed Engineer to join the Professional Services team. You will embed with enterprise customers to lead frontend migrations to Next.js, architect high-performance apps, and deliver AI-enabled solutions using Vercel's AI SDK.

You will work remotely with significant travel (25-40%) to customer sites, translating complex tech into measurable business value and guiding customers from discovery through live deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading frontend migrations of legacy apps to Next.js
• Strong knowledge of Next.js concepts like App Router, Server Components, ISR
• Experience performing code audits and performance optimizations
• Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and web performance tooling
• Ability to work directly with enterprise customers and translate tech to business value

Responsibilities

• Lead complex frontend migrations from legacy frameworks to Next.js for enterprise customers.
• Conduct technical assessments and code audits to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Architect and implement high-performance Next.js applications using modern rendering techniques.
• Optimize Core Web Vitals and overall performance using diagnostic tools.
• Build production AI solutions using Vercel AI SDK and AI Cloud.
• Embed with strategic customers to ship TypeScript code live in their environments.
• Drive enablement through workshops, pairing, and documentation for long-term adoption.
• Navigate enterprise environments and communicate technical capabilities to stakeholders.
• Participate in pre-sales activities with technical discovery and scoping.
