Unknown is seeking an Engineering Manager - Foundations & Enablement based in Spain. You will lead a cross-functional team building the baseloads and tooling that enable others to move quickly, securely, and consistently in a remote-first environment.

You will own people development, delivery, and technical roadmap, collaborating with Frontend, Backend, and Infrastructure teams to scale practices and standards. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring are essential to success.

Formación

• 7+ years in software development including 2+ years in engineering leadership
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across frontend and backend
• Hands-on with scalability, reliability, observability, and security principles
• Experience owning platform, DevOps, security, or developer tooling initiatives
• Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated AI literacy to improve productivity and decision-making

Responsabilidades

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team focusing on delivery and people development
• Balance technical roadmap with requests from multiple product teams and communicate priorities
• Maintain engineering standards for security, tooling, CI/CD, and developer experience
• Collaborate with Infrastructure on shared platform concerns
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of coaching and knowledge sharing
• Support technical decision-making while ensuring delivery commitments
• Establish delivery estimates, identify risks, and remove blockers
• Own recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for the team
• Conduct regular 1-on-1s, set goals, and provide feedback
• Foster documentation and open communication across the org
• Promote inclusion and a positive, remote-first culture
• Improve engineering processes and ways of working in a remote environment
