Técnicas Reunidas, a leading Oil & Gas international engineering and construction company, is seeking a Value Improvement Engineer (engineering or project management) to support project leaders, engineering and construction teams on cost and schedule reduction initiatives. Based in Madrid, the role involves collaborating with internal and external clients across international projects.

• 10-15 years of experience including at least 5 years in petrochemical, refinery, chemical or power projects as senior specialist or project engineer.
• Advanced industry expertise and ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
• Experience working with international teams and cultures; international experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support to project leaders, engineering and construction teams in cost or schedule reduction opportunities.
• Benchmark designs against historical performance, industry norms and client designs to meet requirements.
• Facilitate value workshops and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Translate project scope and proposed alternatives into a capital expenditure cost estimate for design, procurement and construction.
• Keep abreast of developments in new techniques and materials and maintain the Value Improvement database.

We are looking for a Value Improvement Engineer (mainly as Engineering or Project Management), whose main function will be:

• Provide support to project leaders, engineering and construction teams at the identification and implementation of cost (or schedule) reduction alternatives.
• Benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms and client's standard designs in order to provide alternative design that MEET but not EXCEED customer requirements.
• Facilitate value workshops and identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement.
• Managing communications or workshops with Clients (if required)
• Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for Capital Projects with assistance of project technical disciplines.
• Break down "silos", improving communications and enable individuals to contribute to a team solution.
• Provide recommendations which would be incorporated in corporate specifications and standards for future.
• Translate the identified project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement and construction.
• Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
• In coordination with in-house department Estimation support team, collect actual and alternative cost performance. Condition and normalize data for future use, by developing metrics and benchmarking information.
• Keep abreast of significant development in new technics and materials by close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors and attendance at professional and technical meetings.
• Use of In-house procedure and Value Improvement database and ensure database is updated during the execution of the projects involved on.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 10-15 years of experience including at least 5 years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, chemical or power generation projects as senior specialist or project engineer.
• Expertise: You have advanced industry expertise and a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
• Be familiar with construction practices, materials and equipment. Ability to work with project teams, build relationships with "internal" and external clients to work with international cultures and having international experience is preferable.
