Técnicas Reunidas is seeking a Value Improvement Engineer (Electrical or Instrument) to support project leaders, engineering and construction teams in identifying cost and schedule reduction opportunities.

The role involves benchmarking designs against historical performance and client standards, facilitating value workshops, and producing cost reduction proposals for capital projects with cross-disciplinary input.

Formación

• 10–15 years experience in petrochemical, refinery, chemical or power projects.
• Senior specialist or project engineer on large projects.
• Able to work with international teams and cultures.

We are looking for a Value Improvement Engineer (mainly as Electrical or Instrument Engineer), whose main function will be:

• Provide support to project leaders, engineering and construction teams at the identification and implementation of cost (or schedule) reduction alternatives.
• Benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms and client’s standard designs in order to provide alternative design that MEET but not EXCEED customer requirements.
• Facilitate value workshops and identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement.
• Managing communications or workshops with Clients (if required)
• Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for Capital Projects with assistance of project technical disciplines.
• Break down "silos", improving communications and enable individuals to contribute to a team solution.
• Provide recommendations which would be incorporated in corporate specifications and standards for future.
• Translate the identified project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement and construction.
• Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
• In coordination with in-house department Estimation support team, collect actual and alternative cost performance. Condition and normalize data for future use, by developing metrics and benchmarking information.
• Keep abreast of significant development in new technics and materials by close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors and attendance at professional and technical meetings.
• Use of In-house procedure and Value Improvement database and ensure database is updated during the execution of the projects involved on.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 10-15 years of experience including at least 5 years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, chemical or power generation projects as senior specialist or project engineer.
• Expertise: You have advanced industry expertise and a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
• Be familiar with construction practices, materials and equipment. Ability to work with project teams, build relationships with "internal" and external clients to work with international cultures and having international experience is preferable.
