Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician - Water Engineer for the ZAZ cluster. You will operate water treatment and distribution systems across our data center fleet, focusing on RO equipment, disinfection, and cooling water loops, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations.
• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Extensive knowledge of water treatment technologies and processes.
• Experience with industrial water system design and operation.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, fluid mechanics, and water distribution network design.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles applied to water infrastructure (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping).

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for water system infrastructure and chemical treatments.
• Oversee critical systems including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and oxidant systems.
• Develop and maintain Legionella prevention programs.
• Implement Water Utilization Efficiency improvements.
• Review and influence water chemistry and treatment designs for new facilities.
• Coordinate with design engineering teams on system specifications.
• Review construction documents and provide technical guidance.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures.
• Monitor system performance and establish benchmarks.
• Coordinate with operations managers and field engineering teams.
• Review SOPs/MOPs/EOPs, support compliance with global policies, and maintain accurate records of equipment status, incidents, and maintenance activities.
