Job summary

Maisa is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable services in Go and Python within a microservices architecture deployed on Kubernetes. You will own features end-to-end, collaborating with client-facing teams to translate requirements into reliable solutions.

The role requires 3–7+ years of backend experience, production exposure to Go and Python, and strong knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• Production experience with Go and Python; Go preferred.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kafka or similar message queue systems.
• Familiarity with Redis (or equivalent in-memory stores) and MongoDB.
• Experience working with Kubernetes and containerised services in production.
• Comfortable with AWS and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with high ownership.
• Strong communication skills; collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and how it's reshaping product development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Go and Python across a microservices architecture on Kubernetes.
• Own features end-to-end from design through deployment and iteration.
• Work with clients and client-facing teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Write clean, production-ready code and contribute to code reviews.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and raise the technical bar.
• Maintain and improve existing client implementations while building new capabilities.
