WhereTo, part of Flight Centre Travel Group, is seeking a Back End focused engineer to join our engineering team in a fast-paced remote environment. You will work closely with product managers and developers to build core features used across the WhereTo platform and scale systems for a global travel program.

You love building scalable, maintainable code, enjoy modern JavaScript and Node.js, and are comfortable mentoring junior engineers while collaborating with stakeholders.

Formación

• 6+ years of experience in a software development role.
• Experience building and architecting high quality software from scratch.
• Strong Node.js and JavaScript skills (ES6, Babel); TypeScript/Flow is a bonus.
• Experience with asynchronous I/O and REST-based Web Service API implementation.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Experience with memory cache systems (Redis).
• Experience with CI platforms (Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis).
• Experience with AWS services and Linux environments.

Responsabilidades

• Create high quality user-focused software in a fast-moving domain team.
• Define and reinforce architectural and implementation best practices.
• Assist Team Lead with technical planning and progress reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews to teammates.
• Mentor junior engineers and support onboarding.
• Collaborate with product managers and external stakeholders as needed.
• Design and implement highly horizontally scalable architecture.
