Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an AI Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap, building production systems on top of large language models rather than conducting research.

You will work with engineering leadership to convert a documented automation roadmap into shipped tools, integrations, and workflows. This role requires hands-on experience with LangChain or equivalent frameworks and API integrations with OpenAI/Anthropic, plus REST/Webhook knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Own and ship our internal automation roadmap as production systems.
• Turn documented automation workflows into shipped tools and integrations.
• Build agentic workflows using LangChain or similar frameworks and connect APIs.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to reduce manual hours via internal tools.
