CAE is seeking a Regional Training Standards Manager to lead regional teams across multiple CAE Training Centres in Europe. Based in Vienna, you will translate global standards into regional plans, coach local leads, and ensure regulatory compliance across our civil aviation training network.

You will monitor regional KPIs, oversee instructor training, and foster a culture of excellence. Strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and cross-cultural collaboration are essential.

Formación

  • Hold or have held an EASA ATPL or CPL licence.
  • Hold or have held FAA instructor certificate or Part–FCL certificate or 900(c) qualification.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience delivering or managing instructor training within an ATO/AOC environment.
  • Extensive experience in training pilots for professional licences and/or related ratings.

Overview

Join our Business Aviation Training Centre in Vienna (Schwechat) as Regional Training Standards Manager, supporting CAE’s global Civil Aviation Training team. Our newly opened centre hosts state‑of‑the‑art Full Flight Simulators, including the G550, PH100/300, Global 7500, and Global 6000 Vision, with capacity to expand to nine simulators. This 8,000‑sqm facility is designed to provide the most advanced pilot training environment in Central Europe.

In This Role, You Will
  • Provide regional leadership, coordination, and oversight of multiple Local Training Standards Leads to ensure consistent implementation of global standards and harmonised training practices across all Training Centres.
  • Coach, guide, and evaluate Local Training Standards Leads to maintain consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Translate global initiatives into actionable regional plans and support Training Centre Leaders in customer and internal training delivery.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on regional OKRs, KPIs, and performance metrics related to instructor qualifications, observation programmes (IPPM/DOI), audit findings, and training quality.
  • Identify regional trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide data‑driven recommendations to the Global Head of Standards.
  • Oversee delivery of Civil Global IDT and other instructor training activities, ensuring alignment in courseware, methodology, and delivery standards.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, aligning global standardisation policies with regional operational requirements and supporting regulatory interpretation.
  • Develop and facilitate structured regional governance, ensuring effective communication between Local Training Standards Leads, Training Standards Specialists, Training Managers, Centre Leaders, and global leadership.
  • Support efficiency in instructor time to qualification by collaborating with Operations to align business needs, regulatory requirements, and training delivery.
  • Promote a regional culture of excellence, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the Standards community.
  • Manage responsibilities across multiple training centres, including remote leadership across different time zones and cultures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold or have held an EASA ATPL or CPL licence.
  • Hold or have held either:
    • FAA instructor certificate, or
    • Part‑FCL instructor certificate (EASA), or
    • Equivalent 900(c) qualification aligned with ATO training courses.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience delivering or managing instructor training within an ATO and/or AOC environment.
  • Extensive experience in training MPA pilots for professional licences and/or associated ratings.
  • Experience in Multi‑Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Crew Resource Management (CRM).
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., Part‑FCL/ORA, CFR Part 61, 135, 142).
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and develop training leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret performance data (OKRs, KPIs, audits).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across global and regional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work across cultures, time zones, and diverse training environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience across multiple domains (e.g., BAT, CAT, FTO).
  • Experience supporting multiple business units and managing complex training ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to implement and harmonise global standardisation policies across diverse environments.
  • Experience in regional or multi‑site leadership roles.
  • Strong capability in influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience building a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
