Job summary

AECOM Corporation in Madrid is seeking a Rail Systems BIM Modeler with Revit experience to join our Rail Systems Team. You will model installations, correlate disciplines, and develop and maintain BIM projects across international rail projects, including BEP compliance and design submissions.

The role requires 1-3 years of BIM experience, strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic office environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in BIM modeling or related field.
• 2D drafting skills for diagrams and technical details.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD at an advanced user level.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers by clarifying project installations and resolving interfaces.
• Create BIM models from scratch with geolocation and shared parameters.
• Link and coordinate models across disciplines, manage worksets and grids.
• Create and manage Rail System & MEP families: conduits, cabling, duct, equipment.
• Produce drawings using templates, filters, title blocks, schedules, annotations.
• Review BEP and align team with BIM Execution Plan in Madrid.
• Participate in clash detection and BIM coordination meetings with other disciplines.
• Contribute to design submissions as planned with the engineers team.

We are currently recruiting a Rail Systems BIM Modeler with experience in Revit to join our experienced and successful Rail Systems Team based in the Spain Enterprise Capabilities Office in Madrid.

In the Rail Systems department, we develop international projects (USA, UK, Canada, Australia…) mainly focused in the rail sector and in particular to rail systems such as traction power substations, power distribution systems, catenary system, telecommunications, signaling, etc. Furthermore, we develop other projects not directly related to the rail market, for instance installations design in stations, technical buildings or warehouses.

The capacities of the team and the work we develop cover all design phases of a Project. Depending on the Project, our scopes go from initial phases to detailed design and/or design & built. We also provide support in the construction phase, as‑builts and feasibility studies.

The team is formed by engineers in the team with wide experience in rail and multidiscipline skills. We have also in the team some BIM Modelers and BIM Coordinators with capacities on Revit, Bentley and AutoCAD.

We are looking for a BIM Modeler who should have experience on installations such as MEP installations, communications equipment, catenary, signaling, cable routing, etc, but it is not a must that they don’t need to be related with rail systems.

Here is what you will do:

• Support the engineers team facilitating the understanding of the Project installations and the detection and resolution of interfaces.
• Create models from scratch in BIM, geolocalizated, including Project parameters and Shared parameters, linking models of other disciplines, coordinating our 3D design across other disciplines, monitoring levels and grids of linked models like architecture and creating worksets.
• Create and manage families related to Rail System & MEP: conduits, cable tray, duct, electrical equipment, electrical fixtures, mechanical equipment, communication devices, etc.
• Create drawings using view templates, filters, titleblocks, schedules, annotations, sheet lists, etc. and print them under the project standards.
• Attend meetings with the BIM team of the project to agree on the quality and deliveries, analyze the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and implement it in the engineers’ team in Madrid.
• Attend periodic meetings of Clash detection and BIM Coordination of the project, with the rest of BIM coordinators of the other disciplines.
• Go with and participate with the engineers’ team in the design submissions as planned.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Minimum 1‑3 years of experience.
• Good level in 2D tools for drawings, diagrams and technical details.
• Knowledge on the use of software Autodesk Revit and AutoCad advanced user level.
• Knowledge on the use of the following platforms and programs will be positively valued: ACC, Forma, Navisworks.
• Automation skills for tasks and BIM processes with Dynamo or other tools will be positively valued.
• Teamwork skills and willingness to help.
