BIOGIPUZKOA Health Research Institute in Donostia-San Sebastián invites applications for a predoc researcher position in the Cellular Oncology Group. The role includes identifying cancer markers and conducting molecular and computational studies within a biomedical research setting.

Applicants should hold a university degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, or Pharmacy with GPA above 7.5 and have a good command of English.

Predoctoral Researcher Position in the Cellular Oncology Group.
Job location: Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute (Donostia-San Sebastián), Cellular Oncology
Research Group.

Duties and responsabilities:

• Identification of new cancer markers.
• Analyzing and comparing data against studies published by other research groups.
• Development of molecular and computational studies.
• Clinical validation of identified patterns.
• Biological validation of identified patterns in both animal models and in vitro studies on cell cultures.

ESSENTIAL:

• This contract is for university graduates in the areas of Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, and/or similar.
• A grade point average of above 7.5.

PREFERRED:

• Experience and knowledge in Computational biology and Bioinformatics would be desirable.
• It will be highly desirable for the candidate to have experience working in a research lab.
• Knowledge of molecular and cellular biology techniques will be desirable.
• Previous experience in cancer research with publications or attendance at conferences.
• Medium/high level of written and spoken English.
• *A disability certificate of 33% or higher is a plus.

EVALUATION (MAXIMUM OF 100 POINTS WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW AND 125 POINTS WITH AN INTERVIEW)

Selection process

COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION

• TYPE OF CONTRACT:6-month trainee researcher contract available, extendable to a maximum of 12 months.
• WORK SCHEDULE:Full-time
• EXPECTED START DATE:October 2026
• GROSS ANNUAL SALARY:€21,328.20 per year (gross).
