R&D Project Manager - Robotics & Automation

Job summary

Novanta is seeking a Project Manager on the R&D team to drive new product introductions from concept to launch. You will collaborate with hardware and software engineers, product managers, procurement, sales, and manufacturing while gaining hands-on experience in program management.

You will manage projects across our robotics and automation portfolio, supported by senior leaders who will help you grow. This is an individual contributor role with high visibility and strong career potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years of Project Management experience.
• 3-5 years cumulative experience working on or managing projects.
• PMP certification is a plus; ISO9001 or ISO13485 familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, procurement, sales, manufacturing) to deliver projects on scope and timeline.
• Create and follow project management plans from inception to closure per ISO 9001-compliant processes.
• Record and monitor RAID items (risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions).
• Track action items through to closure and document key decisions.
• Manage and support project resources and documentation (charters, minutes, KPIs).
• Coordinate project reviews for senior executives with stakeholders.
