Novanta is seeking a Hardware Engineer to develop robust, high-performance electronics for motion control products within the R&A group. You will own hardware design from concept to production, emphasizing reliability and manufacturability, and collaborating with engineering, software, and quality teams.

The role centers on servo drives, power electronics, and interface circuits, with a strong focus on documentation and cross-functional alignment.

Formación

• Ms or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in electronics design and manufacture.
• Experience with electrical power applications and PCB/PCA manufacturing processes.
• Ability to write technical assembly instructions and deliverables.
• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English.

Responsabilidades

Job Summary

The Hardware Engineer role within Novanta R&A focuses on the development of robust, high - performance electronics for the different motion control products within the group. The position involves system - level design of motion control solutions and detailed design of control electronics, power management, and communication interfaces for industrial and medical motion applications. Working closely with cross - functional teams and customers, the role supports both standard platforms and customized solutions from concept through production, with a strong emphasis on reliability, manufacturability, and long - term product performance.

The selected engineer will be focused on the hardware design of the Servo Drives division, potentially collaborating in any of the R&A products design. The position requires good hardware skills but also a deep understanding of design for manufacturing and reliability.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the hardware running the R&A products, with special focus on Servo Drives
• Design new and redesign existing electronic circuits, including schematic and layout.
• Conduct detailed circuit analysis and optimize designs through effective component selection and performance evaluation, including circuit simulation.
• Hands-on new hardware board bring-up, system debugging, and optimization.
• Review and improve external documentation (Product manuals, Datasheets, etc.).
• Improve internal documentation (Architecture, Detailed Design, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders to align technical requirements and solutions.
• Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to support product development and integration.

Required Experience and Education

• Minimum requirements:
• Ms o PhD in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or technical related discipline
• Minimum working experience 2 years
• Experience with Electronic circuit technology design and assembly processes
• Background in electrical power applications
• Experience with PCB / PCA manufacturing processes
• Experience in electronics verificaton and validation
• Ability to write technical documents such as assembly instructions this future missing
• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English.
