Job summary

Hempel’s R&D Technology Center in Spain is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to support research, development, testing and quality activities in our laboratory at Polinya. This role offers hands-on experience in an innovative, inclusive environment and exposure to global collaboration with colleagues around the world.

You will work closely with two scientists, perform experiments, document results, and help maintain equipment while ensuring safe operations.

Qualifications

• Education as laboratory technician, BSc in chemistry or equivalent.
• Hands-on and quality orientation in the laboratory.
• Ability to plan and organize your tasks.
• Experience in materials or coating laboratories would be an advantage but not required.
• Ability to communicate and write in English.
• Computer skills.
• Teamwork oriented.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out research and innovation lab experiments, including: Paint manufacture and application.
• Evaluation of paint performance.
• Use of characterization techniques such as DSC, TGA, IR and rheology.
• Supporting the operation of the laboratory environment (set up, configuration, installation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment).
• Day-to-day coordination of laboratory projects.
• Keep accurate and complete records of your laboratory activity.
• Ensure maintenance, safety and tidiness of equipment in laboratories.
