Job summary

The researcher will lead the design of a modular digital twin platform for renewable hydrogen facilities at Trina Hydrogen, Madrid, Spain. You will develop and validate models, drive simulation and optimisation, and integrate energy-system tools to enable techno-economic assessments.

We seek a PhD holder with strong programming and data-processing skills, capable of delivering research-ready tools and actionable insights for hydrogen and future fuels projects. English required; Spanish desirable.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; strong modelling focus.
• Research track in digital twins, energy systems modelling or AI.
• Experience relating to energy transition technologies is valued.

Responsibilities

• Define the scientific and technological architecture of the digital twin.
• Develop and integrate energy and process models across platforms.
• Establish input and output variables for simulations and analyses.
• Develop simulation and optimisation algorithms and validate against data.
• Plan milestones, tests, and document assumptions and uncertainties.
• Provide design and decision-making indicators for projects.
