The Fundació Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya invites applications for a short-term researcher role in Energy Economics. The successful candidate will support the economic dimension of the Local Energy Communities project, guide the PhD candidate, and help develop techno-economic models of electricity markets.
We seek expertise in energy economics, electricity markets, and energy systems modelling; proficiency in Python is preferred.

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with expertise in Energy Economics to support the economic dimension of the project. The successful candidate will provide scientific guidance on energy market and economic aspects, contribute to the development of techno-economic models, and supervise the PhD candidate in all research activities related to energy economics.
The researcher will work closely with the principal investigator and the project team, ensuring that the proposed mathematical models adequately capture market mechanisms, regulatory frameworks, and economic incentives relevant to Local Energy Communities.
Offer of job position:
We offer an R1 position for 2 months in the framework of the Industrial PhD programme titled “Local Energy Communities Optimal Management and Integration”.
Salaries will be paid in accordance with IREC’s salary policy, depending on the candidate’s qualification and professional experience.
