LHH is seeking an experienced Quality Control Laboratory Team Leader to manage a small laboratory team in a fast-paced industrial setting. The role focuses on upholding top quality across products and processes while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

You will supervise, approve materials, investigate non-conformities, and coordinate calibration and audits to ensure compliance with standards and certifications. Strong leadership and bilingual English/Spanish skills are essential.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Quality Control Laboratory environment.
  • Experience leading a team or supervising staff.
  • Experience in lubricants, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, oil & gas or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality systems, testing methods and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and audit processes.
  • MSA and Statistical Quality Control knowledge.
  • Proficiency with SAP and standard lab software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and develop the Quality Control Laboratory team.

  • Monitor lab performance indicators and quality metrics.
  • Review and maintain lab procedures, work instructions, and docs.
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Manage MSA and laboratory statistical controls.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Support internal and external audits and certifications.
  • Identify training needs and develop lab staff.
  • Manage consumables and participate in equipment investment proposals.
  • Promote continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Laboratory Team Leader to join industrial manufacturing company.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead an small laboratory team, ensuring the highest quality standards across products and processes while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the Quality Control Laboratory team.
  • Approve or reject raw materials and finished products based on quality specifications.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions for non-conforming batches.
  • Monitor laboratory performance indicators and quality metrics.
  • Review and maintain laboratory procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate calibration, verification, and maintenance activities for laboratory equipment.
  • Manage Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and laboratory statistical controls.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Identify training needs and contribute to the development of laboratory staff.
  • Manage laboratory consumables and participate in investment proposals for new equipment.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Control Laboratory environment.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience within the lubricants, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, oil & gas, or related industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems, testing methods, and analytical techniques.
  • Experience working with ISO standards and audit processes.
  • Good understanding of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC).
  • Proficiency with SAP and standard laboratory software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
