PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) in Spain seeks a Quality Control Lab Lead to oversee QC staff, approve production materials, and drive corrective actions for off-spec results. The candidate will coordinate lab testing, data review, and internal audits, ensuring ISO/TS compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science or higher in chemistry or engineering, 5 years in a QC lab, and 2 years in lubricants. Remote work is available; base salary €55,000–€61,000 with a 10% STIP.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in chemistry/engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Quality Control Laboratory (up to 5 years) and 2 years in lubricants/oil & gas.

Responsabilidades

• Manage QC lab staff and approve/reject production materials.
• Define corrections for off-spec batches via lab studies and trend analysis.
• Support Europe QC Lab Manager in meetings, audits and metrics.
• Monitor production control analysis and RFT calculations.
• Review and update laboratory procedures and work instructions.
• Train new QC Laboratory Technician on methods and equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance/calibration for lab instruments per yearly plan.
• Verify internal verification plans for lab measuring instruments.
• Manage MSA (Measurement System Analysis) & Lab Statistics.
• Maintain technical documentation per ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, PIAQA; ensure HSSE compliance.
• Oversee lab expenses and propose investments.

Puesto:

Key Accountabilities:

• To manage the quality control lab staff
• To approve/reject production and raw materials
• To define corrections for production batches off spec. (by lab blending study or historical trend)
• To support QC Lab Manager Europe on Lab Meeting, internal audit and providing QC Lab metrics
• To monitor production control analysis, including RFT calculation
• To edit and review of all laboratory procedures and working instructions
• To identify/provide training in case of updating test method and new equipment
• To train the new QC Laboratory Technician
• To Subcontract for maintenance/calibration equipment according to yearly plan
• To verify the internal verification plan laboratory measuring instruments
• To manage MSA (Measurement System Analysis) & Lab Statistics
• Management of technical documentation according to internal/global requirements (ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, PIAQA), for instance CoA and shelf life declaration
• To guarantee the compliance with company HSSE policy, and support HSEQ department for root causes identification
• To manage Lab expenses (consumables) and to propose investments

Requisitos:

Minimum degree (Bachelor of Science or higher) in Technical discipline (Chemistry or Engineering is preferable) or equivalent.

Fluency in English and Spanish are essential

This position requires experience in Quality Control Laboratory (up to 5 years) and 2 years of experience dealing with any Lubricants/Oil & Gas business
