Join our Movement and Champion Restaurant Culture!

At TheFork we believe that the best things in life happen around the table.

As the leading restaurant booking platform in Europe, we connect the broadest community of loyal diners with the world’s favorite restaurants. Powered by innovation and a deep passion for the restaurant industry, we create unique dining experiences across 11 countries.

We’re part of the Tripadvisor Group and proud to be building a diverse, people-first culture where “respect”, “ownership”, “growth” and “better together” values thrive.

If you’re passionate about food, technology, and making a real impact, your seat at the table is ready.

Discover life at TheFork

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will join our Engineering organization within a dedicated Quality Engineering team of around 10 passionate engineers.

In this role, you won't just write test scripts—you will build the platform, tooling, and infrastructure that power quality across all our engineering squads. You’ll be working in a truly international environment, collaborating daily with talented developers and engineers across Western and Eastern Europe.

If you have a strong software development background and love building tools that make other engineers faster and more efficient, this is the place for you.

What You Will Do
  • Build tools, not just tests: Design, build, and scale state-of-the-art test automation frameworks and internal tooling (our core stack: Playwright + TypeScript).
  • Own the ecosystem: Act as the technical architect for our entire test ecosystem—owning repositories, design patterns, and long-term codebase health.
  • Empower the engineering org: Enable developers to write fast, reliable tests by providing clean abstractions, SDKs, utility libraries, and reusable components.
  • Shape test architecture: Drive key engineering decisions around test layering, fixture design, data isolation, and environment stability.
  • Improve system testability: Partner with feature teams to architect highly testable APIs, frontends, and data pipelines—without having to write their feature tests for them.
  • Master CI/CD & Performance: Own and optimize modern test pipelines (Jenkins), ruthlessly cutting down execution times and eliminating flakiness.
  • Solve systemic problems: Hunt down root causes of instability and slow feedback loops to implement permanent structural fixes rather than quick patches.
  • Innovate with AI: Experiment with and integrate AI-driven testing tools and LLMs to push our testing capabilities and developer productivity forward.
  • Elevate engineering standards: Mentor engineers, define quality gates/metrics, and champion a modern Quality Engineering culture across the company.
Who You Are
  • 2 to 5 years of hands‑on experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Quality Engineer with a strong focus on tooling, infrastructure, and framework design.
  • Solid Software Engineering background: Whether you started as a Software Developer or built a strong coding foundation in QA, you write clean, scalable, and maintainable code (TypeScript / JavaScript experience required).
  • Framework expertise: Proven experience designing and architecting automation frameworks from scratch or at scale, ideally using Playwright.
  • Deep architectural understanding: Mastery of test design patterns, the test pyramid, data management strategies, and test isolation.
  • CI/CD mastery: Strong experience configuring and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) with an obsession for fast feedback loops.
  • API & Systems knowledge: Comfortable testing REST and GraphQL interfaces and designing reusable API client layers.
  • Developer Advocate mindset: Passionate about cross‑team collaboration, technical mentorship, and making developers' lives easier.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively in an international environment across Europe.
You Can Impress With These Additions
  • Dual background / Dev experience: Prior experience as a Backend (Node.js preferred) or Full‑stack Engineer.
  • Platform Engineering mindset: Experience building internal developer platforms, test infrastructure, or custom developer CLI tools.
  • Playwright power‑user: Deep knowledge of custom reporters, advanced fixtures, parallelization strategies, and plugin development.
  • Modern Infra & Observability: Hands‑on experience with Docker, ephemer...
  • Quality Gates & Governance: Experience with tools like SonarQube / SonarCloud and setting up automated quality gates in decentralized engineering teams.
  • AI Enthusiast: Practical exposure to AI‑assisted testing or integrating LLMs into dev/test workflows.
What We Offer You

  • A permanent contract (that can be useful in life)
  • Flexible working environment (2 days home office per week + up to 4 total weeks additional flexibility during the summer period and in December to work fully remotely)
