Freelance QA Automation Engineer – 6-Month Contract (Remote, Madrid)

We’re looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer / Tester to join a growing team delivering a large-scale Insurance Surety platform project. It’s a 6‑month freelance contract, fully remote (Madrid‑based), with renewal every 6 months.

You’ll be joining a high‑performing team already deep into the build phase – so if you’re the kind of person who thrives on fast‑moving projects and tight delivery timelines, this will suit you.

What you’ll do

• Work on backend service testing, automation, and quality control
• Help deploy a new version of an insurance system with custom integrations
• Design and execute test cases based on user stories and requirements
• Track and document issues using Azure Boards (or similar tools)
• Contribute to performance and regression testing efforts

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years’ experience in QA automation, backend testing, or similar roles
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and best practices
• Hands‑on with tools and frameworks across Angular, Java / Spring, and Oracle
• Good written and spoken English
• Self‑sufficient, collaborative, and proactive

Contract details

• Freelance / Temporary contract (6 months, rolling)
• Remote (Madrid‑based ideally)
