Formación

The Role

The PV & BESS Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager within the Global Engineering and Technical Support (GETS) team. Their role is central to the development of Sonnedix's PV and BESS pipeline, providing technical support to the Growth teams in Spain and Portugal (with potential to support other countries) and to the E&C team during the EPC tender, notice-to-proceed and construction phases. The PV & BESS Engineer assesses the technical feasibility of new opportunities, reviews technical due diligence for acquisitions, and helps ensure preliminary designs, CAPEX estimates and engineering calculations are robust and well documented. The PV & BESS Engineer works closely with internal stakeholders, including Growth, Project Management, Site Management, and Asset Management, to define technical inputs and assumptions, support contract development and negotiation, and review EPC contractors' technical deliverables for compliance with design and standards. The role offers ownership of key technical workstreams, including preliminary plant configuration, yield and degradation calculations, and MV/HV interconnection concepts, as well as collaboration with owner's Engineers and specialised consultants to resolve technical risks and open items across the project lifecycle, from early-stage development through construction and handover to Operations.

Desirable Skills:

• Proven experience in PV engineering, with BESS experience highly valued, and a relevant engineering degree specialising in renewable energies
• Proficient in AutoCAD, PVcase and PVsyst, with a strong grasp of Spanish and Portuguese codes, standards and authorization processes
• Proven ability to review and interpret detailed PV/BESS technical documentation and drive design optimisation
• Highly organised with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders across functions and cultures
• Curious learner with a strong interest in AI-enabled engineering tools (Copilot, Claude/Cowork) and enthusiasm for contributing to system and process improvements
