SLS Barcelona is seeking a Purchasing Agent Intern to join the team. Under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager, you’ll be responsible for the storage, distribution, maintenance and accounting of food and beverage, general supplies and maintaining the cleanliness of the storage area according to standards:

We offer hands-on learning in a luxury lifestyle hotel environment, with opportunities to work closely with the Purchasing team and gain exposure to operations across the property.

Formación

• Bachelor's/Master's in hospitality or related field; six-month internship, possible school agreement.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; good problem-solving and decision-making.
• Willingness to adapt to SLS Barcelona culture and collaborate with the team.
• Team player who shares ownership and learns quickly.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with closing Purchase Orders under Purchasing Manager supervision.
• Support updating data in the ADACO system accurately.
• Check receiving and storage procedures daily for compliance.
• Receive, document, store and issue goods and materials.
• Coordinate with departments on warehouse matters and maintain logs.
• Maintain accurate storeroom inventory and proper labeling.

Job Description

We are looking for a Purchasing Agent Intern to be part of the team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager, you’ll be responsible for the storage, distribution, maintenance and accounting of food and beverage, general supplies and maintaining the cleanliness of the storage area according to standards:

• Assist with the closing of Purchase Orders (POs) under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, ensuring that all relevant documentation and procedures are properly completed.
• Support the Purchasing team in updating and maintaining data in the ADACO system, ensuring that information is accurate and up to date.
• Check receiving and storage procedures daily to ensure they are being followed.
• Be responsible for receiving, documenting, storing and issuing all goods and materials ordered.
• Verify that products are received, issued, documented, stored and ordered according to company guidelines.
• Issue received goods to the appropriate departments.
• Issue stock and supplies to staff submitting duly approved requisition forms, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Keep requisition forms on file, ensuring they are properly completed and acknowledged by the requesting party.
• Ensure that all items stored in freezers are properly packed in plastic bags and appropriately labeled.
• Coordinate with other departments on warehouse operational matters when necessary.
• Keep the shipping and receiving log up to date.
• Take and maintain an accurate inventory of storeroom products

Qualifications

• You´re studying a bachelor´s/master´s degree in hospitality or a related field. - You have the possibility to sign an agreement with your school for a period of preferably 6 months.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• You take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
• You learn quickly and adapt to SLS’s unique culture.
• You are humble and open to ideas. We leave our ego at the door and help get things done.
