DayOne seeks a Project Manager – Mechanical to lead mechanical engineering packages for mission‑critical data center projects. You will manage HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and controls from design through commissioning.

The role requires 5–8 years in mechanical PM, with data center exposure, and fluency in English and Spanish. On‑site work with travel is expected as projects scale globally.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PMP or equivalent PM certification preferred.
• 5–8 years of mechanical PM exp, 3+ years on data center or mission‑critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of data center mech infra: chilled water, DX cooling, economizers, CRAC/CRAH.
• Familiarity with local codes & intl standards (ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA).
• Proficiency in PM tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Effective communication, coordination and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on‑site and travel as needed.
• Experience in fast‑growing, international environments.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

• Review designs and specs for alignment with client requirements and codes.
• Monitor progress, site inspections and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Enforce QA/QC, HSE compliance and international standards.
• Manage cost tracking, budgeting, procurement and change control.
• Collaborate with electrical, civil and controls teams for integrated delivery.
• Maintain project docs: RFIs, submittals, reports, punch lists.
• Identify and mitigate mechanical risks and resolve issues.
• Deliver weekly progress updates to senior stakeholders.

Project Manager – Mechanical

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager – Mechanical to lead and deliver mechanical engineering packages for mission‑critical data center projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and mechanical controls, and will be able to manage complex construction and infrastructure deployments from design through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage the mechanical scope of work for data center projects, including HVAC, chillers, piping, ventilation, and BMS interfaces.
• Manage internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and vendors to deliver mechanical systems on time, within budget, and to specification.
• Review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications; ensure alignment with client requirements, codes, and standards.
• Monitor progress and performance of mechanical contractors, conduct site inspections, and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Enforce quality control, health and safety compliance, and ensure adherence to local and international mechanical engineering standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.).
• Manage cost tracking, budgeting, procurement planning, and change control processes for mechanical components.
• Collaborate with electrical, civil, and controls teams to ensure integrated system delivery.
• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, reports, and punch lists.
• Identify and mitigate mechanical risks and resolve issues as they arise.
• Deliver weekly progress updates and reports to senior stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5-8 years of mechanical project management experience, including at least 3 years on data center or mission‑critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of data center mechanical infrastructure including chilled water systems, DX cooling, economizers, CRAC/CRAH units, etc.
• Familiarity with local codes and international standards (ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA).
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Effective communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on‑site and travel as needed.
• Previous experience working in fast growing, international environments.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
