An international Engineering and Construction company is seeking an Engineering Manager for a permanent role in Madrid. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience, a degree in Engineering, and strong management, communication, and negotiation skills. This role involves leading the Engineering team, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and engaging with clients on technical deliverables.

Formación

  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • High level of English (C1).
  • International mobility.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate the Engineering team.
  • Ensure compliance with the Contract during the HO phase and on-site.
  • Coordinate different Engineering leaders assigned to the Project.
  • Lead issuance of the Engineering Plan for the Project.
  • Participate in meetings with the Client regarding Engineering activities.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager

to join the organization on a stable basis (permanent contract) to support the running projects, reporting directly to the Project Director and Corporate Project Management area, to perform the following functions :

Specific functions

Lead, manage, and coordinate the Engineering team assigned to the project, ensuring compliance with the Contract within their area of responsibility both during the HO phase and on-site, if necessary.

Coordinate the different Engineering leaders assigned to the Project and guarantee the technical quality, deadlines, and costs of the work and deliverables from Engineering both in HO and on-site, according to the Contract scope and Client / Project technical specifications.

Lead the issuance of the Engineering Plan for the Project and ensure its compliance.

Ensure the integrity of the Engineering design and guarantee the correct application of procedures, specifications, standards, and HSE, QA, and QC requirements.

Participate in meetings with the Client to review Engineering activities and deliverables, specifically : P&IDs, design, 3D model, underground systems, passive protection, HSE studies (such as HAZOP, SIL…), etc.

Lead the coordination of Engineering consistency analyses and ensure the implementation of Value Improvement and Constructability initiatives.

Ensure the content and scope of requisitions, tabulations, award recommendations, and purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.

Channel and ensure control of all technical clarifications raised to the Client, Licensors, and / or vendors regarding the Engineering area.

Analyze the technical scope and associated hours for proposed changes in the application of Change Notifications submitted by disciplines for approval or rejection.

Lead and consolidate periodic progress and project closure reports related to Engineering activities.

Manage budget control of hours and global engineering resources (internal and subcontracted).

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience
  • Knowledge of the complete Project Cycle, understanding essential areas such as Construction, Procurement, Engineering, and Processes
  • Knowledge of planning hours and resources
  • Management and coordination skills. Leadership
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High level of English (C1)
