K-LAGAN in Bilbao is seeking an Electrical Engineer (PMC) to oversee the building electrification scope within a large steelmaking project. The role focuses on project management, technical assurance, and coordination of electrical systems across buildings and auxiliary facilities.

You will work with EPC/EPCM partners, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery, review design documents, 3D model coordination, and on-site supervision during installation,

Formación

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in industrial projects (steelmaking, metals, mining) or similar.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems and protection relays.
• Experience in PMC, EPC, or EPCM environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and vendor documents.

Responsabilidades

• Lead electrical engineering oversight for MV/LV power distribution, substations, switchboards, and UPS/generator systems for buildings and auxiliary facilities.
• Focus on building electrification scope including offices and non-process facilities.
• Review and approve design documents, single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, and protection philosophies.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with EPC/EPCM contractors on deliverables and design changes.
• Lead 3D model coordination across electrical systems with OEMs and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress of engineering, procurement, FATs/SATs, and construction activities.
• Provide site supervision during installation, testing, commissioning, and energization of equipment.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE rules and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and interface management with mechanical, civil, and automation teams.
• Prepare progress reports and technical recommendations for project leadership.

Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (PMC) - Building Electrification scope within a steelmaking project. The role focuses on project management, technical assurance, and coordination of electrical systems related to buildings and auxiliary facilities within a large-scale industrial plant. The successful candidate will work closely with EPC/EPCM partners, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, timely, and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering oversight for LV/MV power distribution, substations, switchboards, backup power systems (UPS/generators), lighting, and electrical systems related to buildings and auxiliary facilities within the plant.
• Focus on building electrification scope, including offices, auxiliary buildings, and non-process facilities within the industrial site.
• Review and approve design documents, single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, protection philosophies, and vendor data.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE), project specifications, and steel-industry requirements.
• Coordinate with EPC/EPCM contractors on engineering deliverables, design changes, and technical clarifications.
• Lead and manage 3D model coordination across all electrical systems, ensuring alignment between OEM models, EPC/EPCM engineering teams, and civil/mechanical/automation disciplines.
• Monitor progress of electrical engineering, procurement, FATs, SATs, and construction activities.
• Support procurement by reviewing technical bids, evaluating vendor proposals, and participating in technical negotiations.
• Provide site supervision during installation, testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical equipment.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements, electrical safety rules, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and interface management with mechanical, civil, and automation teams.
• Prepare progress reports, and technical recommendations for project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Experience in industrial projects (steelmaking, metals, mining, or similar), with exposure to building electrification or non-process facilities.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, protection relays, transformers, motors, VFDs, UPS, earthing, and power quality.
• Experience working in PMC, EPC, or EPCM environments.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and vendor documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-coordination skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in building electrical systems within industrial environments (offices, workshops, auxiliary buildings).
• Previous involvement in steelmaking, melt shop, rolling mill, or industrial furnace projects.
• Experience with SCADA/DCS interfaces, industrial automation, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMF regulations, and European electrical standards
• Multidisciplinary coordination in international project environments.
