G2 Recruitment seeks an experienced Freelance Project Director for a large-scale Data Center project in Barcelona. The role is senior, hands-on, driving the programme from design to handover with GC and stakeholders, on a high-pressure environment.

The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of the project, manage cost, schedule and quality targets, and report regularly to senior management. Location is Barcelona with four days onsite per week, initial start in Nov/Dec for a

• Proven experience as a Project Manager/Director on data center projects.
• Data center project experience in Spain is required.
• Strong understanding of large-scale construction programmes and GC management.
• Fluent English; Spanish language skills are desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Overall project leadership from design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Full responsibility for programme understanding, control and challenge.
• Day-to-day management and coordination of the General Contractor.
• Supporting and challenging the GC to ensure schedule, quality and cost targets are met.

Project Director | Data Center Project | Barcelona | Freelance

We are looking to engage a well established and experienced Freelance Project Director to join a new large-scale data center project in Barcelona.

Location: Barcelona (4 days per week onsite)

Start: November / December

Contract: 2.5 Year Freelance Contract

Role Overview

This is a senior, hands‑on role responsible for managing the project from A-Z, working closely with the General Contractor, consultants and internal stakeholders. The position is challenging and fast‑paced, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to drive programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall project leadership from design through construction, commissioning and handover
• Full responsibility for programme understanding, control and challenge
• Day‑to‑day management and coordination of the General Contractor
• Supporting and challenging the GC to ensure schedule, quality and cost targets are met
• Cost awareness and support, including reporting and change management
• Regular reporting to senior stakeholders and executive management

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a Project Manager / Director function on data center projects
• Previous data center project experience in Spain is required
• Demonstrated track record xsgfvud managing full lifecycle projects
• Strong understanding of large-scale construction programmes and GC management
• Fluent English, with Spanish language skills highly desirable
• Comfortable operating in a high‑pressure, senior stakeholder environment
• Strong knowledge of the Spanish construction and data center market
