Our Client aims to become a leader in the next generation of solid-state lithium battery technology and currently seeks to recruit a Process Engineer to be responsible for the electrode processes in solid-state and semi solid-state batteries.

We are actively searching for a highly qualified engineer who can bring strong battery manufacturing background, solid work ethic and personal integrity to their dedicated fast paced dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and expansion of assigned processes, encompassing slurry manufacturing to the slitting process.
  • Identify suitable equipment for high volume production of electrodes.
  • Establish crucial process parameters to optimize conditions, ensuring the uniformity of cell construction.
  • Collaborate with machine suppliers during equipment design to incorporate necessary capabilities and processes.
  • Generate comprehensive process documentation, including PFMEA and Control Plans, for newly developed processes and assembly concepts.
  • Validate process standards by conducting process capability analysis and statistical process analysis based on optimal equipment operation and process conditions.
  • Analyze process data to identify failure modes, propose enhancements, and contribute to improved design and operating specifications, supporting product, material, process, and equipment development initiatives.
  • Assist in optimizing electrode composition and processing to enhance electrochemical and manufacturing quality and performance.
  • Evaluate process data and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
  • Investigate equipment-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, and facilitate timely corrective actions.
  • Ensure the appropriate collection and utilization of process data at both pilot and high volume production scales.
  • Develop process sheets for the assigned area.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic/Process/Chemistry Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience in electrode production at a high volume production scale.
  • Proficiency in slurry manufacturing and coating processes at a high volume production scale.
  • Ability to lead team members.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, and QA troubleshooting tools.
  • Technical expertise and capability in process engineering disciplines.
  • High readiness to work with strong engagement and creativity in an interdisciplinary and international environment.
  • Proficient in using effective problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Skilled in writing clear and accurate process procedures for manufacturing.
  • Supportive of process changes, design modifications, trial parts, and Kaizen improvement activities.
