Job description

From PAC-MAN and Tekken to Tamagotchi and Dark Souls, we are a games company steeped in history. Bandai Namco Mobile, based in Barcelona, is a key pillar of the Bandai Namco Group's mobile strategy and its expansion in the West.

We offer a flatter structure, full ownership of your role and the creative freedom of a start-up, backed by the legacy, resources and stability of a global entertainment powerhouse. Our goal is to add to Bandai Namco's portfolio of successful IPs with original mobile games.

Our team

Everyone in our Games team is a Game Maker, and you'll be no different. You'll join a small, hands-on team that has moved past the prototyping phase. The decisions we make now, will set the foundations for a global launch of the next Bandai Namco F2P Game.

Our flatter structure shapes how we work together, so you'll be an active voice in the team: running and joining ideation sessions, gathering feedback and turning it into clear next steps. You'll give honest, constructive feedback on ideas and designs across the team, and welcome the same on your own work.

Your role

As a Game Designer, you'll own features across the core loop, progression and meta-game, from the first idea to the moment they go live. You'll design, build and test them yourself, then watch how players respond and iterate until they work.

As we are in soft launch mode, live operations will play a big part of your role, planning events and challenges that keep players coming back as well as making sure the economy behind them stays healthy as the game grows. You'll shape how players progress and what they earn along the way, keeping the game fun and balanced.

You'll also help shape how the game monetise, working on systems that respects players and feel worth paying for. Data backs every decision: you'll partner with our data team to understand how our players behave and test your ideas in the live game.

  • Game design experience across multiple mobile titles, including at least one squad RPG
  • Experience on a live F2P game, ideally taken through soft launch, and comfortable iterating on data.
  • A strong understanding of the mobile RPG F2P market.
  • Experience designing and balancing features, economies, progression and meta systems, with a good understanding of how they connect and move KPIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Unity or another game engine.
  • Strong communicator, verbal, written and in presentations. You'll pitch your ideas, lead discussions, give constructive critique and take feedback in your stride.
Nice to have
  • C# experience.
  • Experience with A/B testing and analytics tools.
