Sezzle is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate the platform powering Sezzle. You will tackle hard infra challenges: latency, capacity, resilience, and automation. The role focuses on AWS, Kubernetes, and Aurora RDS, with on‑call responsibilities and a hands‑on approach to incidents.

You’ll own architecture, drive improvements, and apply AI‑assisted tooling for operational efficiency, reporting to engineering leadership.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field
• 12+ years of experience across infrastructure, platform, site reliability, or related engineering disciplines
• Deep expertise with AWS in production environments
• Kubernetes production experience; EKS preferred
• Relational databases at scale: RDS/Aurora (MySQL and Postgres)
• Strong coding and automation skills (Golang, Python) with IaC experience
• Experience operating 24/7 high-availability platforms and on-call incident response
• Ability to carry ambiguous problems from investigation through production delivery

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical architecture and evolution of core infrastructure to support growing traffic and data
• Diagnose bottlenecks across compute, networking, Kubernetes, and databases
• Design and build AWS infrastructure with multi‑AZ or multi‑region considerations
• Build and operate the Kubernetes platform with autoscaling and safe upgrades
• Scale and optimize Aurora RDS for MySQL and Postgres; plan capacity and migrations
• Improve reliability with SLOs, error budgets, and incident postmortems
• Build observability with metrics, logs, traces, and dashboards
• Develop AI-assisted tooling for incident investigation and runbooks
