Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer I in Spain to lead CI/CD in the Platform Engineering Productivity team. You will shape the roadmap and ensure secure, scalable release processes across environments.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and act as Incident Commander on critical supply chain incidents while advancing standards and velocity across the org.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in CI/CD and hardening release pipelines against supply chain attacks.
• Strong debugging instincts across the full pipeline: test runner to artifact store to cluster deployment.
• Hands-on with CI infra such as Buildkite or GitHub Actions, GitOps/ArgoCD, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap and technical vision for CI/CD across the organization.
• Identify bottlenecks, friction, or security risks early and drive remediation.
• Design release gates for supply chain integrity and release readiness at scale.
• Direct engineers on multi-quarter projects, breaking down architecture and owning outcomes.
• Drive clear technical communication and documentation for systems and processes.
• Act as Incident Commander on high-severity supply chain or release incidents.
• Raise engineering standards through reviews, mentorship, and setting best practices.
• Remain hands-on where needed, reviewing code and prototyping while leading others.
