TOMRA Food is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team in a role that blends engineering excellence with customer-facing solution design. You will partner with sales to understand processing challenges, perform demonstrations, validate performance, and craft tailored systems that improve efficiency and yield.

Travel up to 30% across the EMEA region is required. The role supports hybrid work arrangements and ongoing customer success initiatives.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Automation, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in Agri-Tech, food processing, automation, or related industries.
  • Experience supporting customers through sales, applications, service, or solution development.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles.
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend technical solutions.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and presentations.
  • Experience with system design and equipment integration.
  • CAD tools knowledge (AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks).
  • Structured problem-solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and driving for results.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% within EMEA.
  • Valid driving license.

Responsabilidades

  • Support the consultative sales process as a technical expert.
  • Analyze customer processes to develop tailored solutions.
  • Prepare technical specs, designs, and quotations.
  • Design and evaluate processing systems and layouts.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and field trials.
  • Analyze performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Provide guidance on equipment configuration and performance.
  • Deliver technical presentations and customer workshops.
  • Support sales and service with training and technical support.
  • Assess requirements to balance performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Lead design reviews and handover to implementation teams.
  • Maintain solution documentation and resources.
  • Monitor industry trends and share knowledge across TOMRA Food.

Job Description

ThePre-Sales Engineerplays a critical role in helping customers solve complex processing challenges. Combining technical expertise, application knowledge, and solution design skills, you will work alongside customers and sales teams to develop tailored processing solutions that improve operational performance and deliver measurable value.

From product demonstrations and performance validation to system design and solution development, you will be a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Support the consultative sales process as a technical and application expert.
  • Analyze customer processes, production requirements, and desired outcomes to develop tailored solutions.
  • Prepare technical specifications, solution designs, performance analyses, quotations, and supporting documentation.
  • Design and evaluate processing systems, layouts, and integrated solutions, including third-party equipment where required.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, field trials, testing, validation activities, and performance optimization projects.
  • Analyze processing performance, equipment utilization, and operational data to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance on equipment configuration and application performance.
  • Deliver technical presentations, webinars, customer workshops, and reference visits.
  • Support Sales and Service teams through application training, troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical support.
  • Assess technical, operational, and commercial requirements to recommend solutions that balance performance, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams and support the successful handover of awarded projects to implementation teams.
  • Maintain solution documentation, standard specifications, and application resources within central systems.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor capabilities to support solution development and business growth.
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and application expertise across the wider TOMRA Food organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Automation, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience within Agri-Tech, food processing, automation, material handling, or equipment-related industries.
  • Experience supporting customers through sales, applications, service, technical support, or solution development.
  • Experience working in sales, service, or other customer-facing technical roles.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, specifications, and customer presentations.
  • Experience with system design, process evaluation, and equipment integration.
  • Knowledge of CAD and design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Customer-focused approach and effective communication skills.
  • Valid work permit/visa status where required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% within the EMEA region.
  • Valid driving license without restrictions.
