Job description

We are seeking a commercially astute, market-facing professional to oversee end-to-end PPA origination and commercial negotiations for utility-scale renewable energy and BESS projects across core European markets, covering Italy, Spain, Poland, Romania, Germany and other key European territories.

This role is fully dedicated to originating, structuring and executing Corporate PPAs, Utility PPAs, tolling agreements and other route-to-market commercial solutions for European renewable and battery energy storage assets. The incumbent will also support project financing initiatives, develop tailored European market commercialization strategies, and drive selective asset monetization in compliance with local power market regulations and industry best practices.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with local European country teams, utilities, energy traders, corporate offtakers, institutional investors and financial counterparties across Europe to deliver commercial targets, enhance project bankability, and optimize exit positioning for the regional renewable and BESS project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

1. PPA Origination & Commercial Development (Europe Exclusive)

• Lead full-cycle origination, commercial negotiation and execution of Corporate PPAs, Utility PPAs, tolling agreements and customized route-to-market arrangements for utility-scale renewable energy and BESS projects across Italy, Spain, Poland, Romania, Germany and other priority European markets.
• Build, expand and maintain long-term strategic relationships with European utilities, regional energy traders, large corporate offtakers, energy aggregators and local route-to-market service providers across target European countries.
• Identify high-potential commercial opportunities, monitor evolving European power market policies, price dynamics and regulatory updates, and support market entry and business expansion strategies for core European regions.
• Lead negotiations on key commercial contractual terms adapted to European market nuances, including pricing frameworks, settlement mechanisms, curtailment allocation protocols, grid imbalance management, credit support arrangements and all bankability-related commercial considerations aligned with European regulatory standards.
• Partner with European local development teams, financing teams, legal counsel and cross-functional stakeholders to advance regional transactions from initial origination through to full execution and financial close.
• Support lender engagement and end-to-end project financing processes for European assets, providing expert commercial insights and revenue contract advisory to strengthen project financing viability.

3. Asset Commercialization & Strategic Transactions Support (Europe Portfolio)

• Develop and refine region-specific project commercialization strategies, covering contracted revenue positioning, merchant trading strategies, route-to-market optimization and investor-focused asset packaging tailored to European power market fundamentals.
• Engage in high-level investor dialogues, institutional partnership negotiations and strategic transaction proceedings for the European project portfolio.

Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years of proven experience in PPA origination, renewable energy commercial development, IPP commercial management or energy trading, with a core focus on European power markets.
• Track record of independently negotiating and executing commercial PPAs and tolling agreements for European renewable energy and BESS projects.
• Must-have: In-depth practical experience and robust market knowledge of key European power markets, with focus on Italy, Spain, Poland and Germany; familiarity with Romania and other Central and Eastern European (CEE) markets is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on project finance experience for renewable energy or BESS assets is highly desirable.
