Hitachi Energy in Madrid is seeking engineers to join our OPC team focused on energy systems and grid integration. You will lead simulation studies, translate insights into customer-ready reports, and interact with clients to align solutions with their needs.

Collaborating across disciplines, you’ll contribute to cutting-edge research and development while expanding your knowledge of today’s evolving energy landscape in a dynamic, international environment.

Formación

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Experience in power systems analysis.
• Knowledge of RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, EMTP-RV.
• Experience with tenders and understanding customer specifications is a plus.
• Fluent English communication; travel up to 10%

Responsabilidades

• Undertaking simulation studies individually or as part of a team daily.
• Making reports out of studies and presenting to customers.
• Understanding customer needs by reading customer specifications and participating in customer meetings.
• Coordination and communication with all disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries, and in close connection to research and development activities.
• Ambition to learn and share critical knowledge in today’s power system.
• Frequent contact with other engineering disciplines, project managers, customers and Hitachi Energy units in an international environment.
• Work independently as well as in a team and take responsibility for tasks as key to success.

We are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity

As part of our engineering team, you’ll lead simulation studies, translate insights into customer-ready reports, and engage directly with clients to understand and shape their needs. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, contribute to cutting‑edge R&D, and continuously expand your knowledge in today’s evolving energy landscape.

How you'll make an impact

Your Background

• You hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar.

• You are experienced in power systems analysis.

• It is preferred that you know about these programs and tools: RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, EMTP-RV, etc.

• It is considered a merit if you have previous experience working on tenders and are familiar with activities such as cost estimation, coordination with sales, and understanding customer specifications.

• Since you will be working in an international environment, it is essential that you communicate fluently in English.

Willingness to travel: Required up to 10%.
