Job summary

Institute for Materials Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in theoretical condensed matter physics within the 2DQUEST project. You will join the Madrid team led by Tobias Stauber and collaborate with groups at Chalmers, Göttingen and Regensburg.

The project explores topological superconductivity and Majorana modes in graphene, with opportunities to develop many-body models, use large-scale graphene simulations, and engage in close experimental dialogue.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics or equivalent by starting date.
• Strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics and scientific programming.
• Experience in superconductivity, interacting electron systems, topological phases, two-dimensional materials or quantum transport would be valuable.

Responsibilities

• Develop many-body models of correlated and superconducting phases.
• Contribute to the FORGE framework for large-scale simulations of graphene nanoribbons and junctions.
• Investigate quantum transport in close dialogue with experimental partners.
• Publish results and participate in scientific meetings; undertake research visits and use advanced computational resources.
