Descripción del empleo

The Fundamental Physics group of the University of Murcia expects to open two (2+1)-years postdoc positions in theoretical physics starting in the Fall of 2026. We welcome applications from all candidates working on gravitational physics, including black holes, gravitational waves and modifications of GR. Researchers with an expertise on black hole perturbation theory, the Teukolsky formalism, quasinormal modes, tidal Love numbers, or effective field theory extensions of general relativity, are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful applicants will work with Prof. Pablo A. Cano within the ERC project “EFTGrav”, whose main goal is to describe the gravitational-wave signatures of beyond-GR theories in black hole binaries.

Candidates will also have the opportunity to interact with other members of our group who work on diverse topics in gravity and high-energy physics. Current members include César A. Agón, Federico Bonetti, José J. Fernández-Melgarejo, Kostas Glampedakis, Javier Molina-Vilaplana, Luca Romano, Emilio Torrente‑Luján along with several PhD students. We maintain weekly activities including journal clubs and seminars, and keep a vibrant environment to work on theoretical physics.

Candidates should send their CV, a statement of research and at least two reference letters through the following link in Academic Jobs Online: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/edelivery/6134.
