Job summary

IRB Barcelona is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Structural Bioinformatics and Network Biology group to work on Systems Medicine within the CLARITY European project led by Dr. Patrick Aloy, with exposure to cutting‑edge AI‑driven analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Biosciences or Engineering in Computer/Data Sciences; PhD in bioinformatics, data sciences, machine learning or related areas.
• Experience with multi‑omics data and ML/data science techniques; strong publications for career stage.
• Excellent programming and scripting skills; deep knowledge of Python; strong ML package knowledge (Scikit, Keras, Pytorch).

Responsibilities

• Integrate data generated within the consortium into embeddings spaces of Chemical Checker and Bioteque; develop new signatures for perturbed modules.
• Develop comparative methods to link viral perturbations to signatures of non‑communicable diseases.
• Adapt generative‑AI models to identify or design new chemical compounds that halt RSV‑induced perturbations.
