The Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Earth Sciences Department seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher for climate services focused on renewable energy and related applications in agriculture and water management.

The role emphasizes handling large climate datasets, developing automated workflows, and publishing findings in peer‑reviewed outlets, with collaboration across an international team and opportunities to contribute to EU projects.

Formación

• PhD in atmospheric sciences, applied statistics or related field.
• Experience handling, analysing and validating large climate model datasets.
• Proficiency in climatic statistical analyses and programming (R/Python).
• Strong written and verbal English for scientific publications.

Responsabilidades

• Perform user-oriented research and post-processing of climate predictions to develop climate services products.
• Develop automated workflows for data loading, post-processing, evaluation, visualization and persistence on HPC systems.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed papers and present at international conferences.
• Collaborate with scientists in the group and department to foster synergies.
• Participate in project proposal preparation, EU work-packages and deliverable writing.
• Engage with users of climate services.
